Today, I will play a setĀ for Ladies Night at Tanqueray’s. I’ll probably go on after midnight. Craig’ll be djembe-ing along with me. We would love to bring out the set, but, it doesn’t seem appropriate.
We’re starting to make plans for recording in July. I have set the personal goal to be finished recording by July 22, 2009. That is my 26th birthday. It will be the best present I could give myself. So, let the birthday money reimburse me for the money I will spend on equipment and manufacturing! It’s time to spend my energy on my passion. Everyone benefits.
Also, Craig has redesigned the background for my Twitter. It looks awesome: Twitter.com/AudreyLJohnson.
I have the next 3 – 4 days off. I vow to make them relaxing, yet productive ones… I’ll probably make an appearance at the local Guitar Center. I’m excited!

Sometimes I think the heat is comforting, but other times, like today, it is something that we survive… like a Minnesota winter.
I can’t sleep, and I need to. I ate too much. I have to go back to work tonight. It will pass.
It seems lame to complain about such minor things, but, it sure doesn’t help to think of starving people in China.
Stay cool.

Played open mic tonight with Craig. It was good times. Craig brought a minimal drum set, and we played right after the Magic tragically lost. The crowd needed comforting, and I was there for them…
Someone asked me for a happy song, and I replied: “I’m a folk singer; I don’t have any happy songs. I can sing something energetic, though.”
Happiness is always laced with the fear of losing it. So, I am thankful, more than anything. I am thankful for the complex, honest love I receive from my family, friends, fans, and even strangers. I am thankful for the opportunity to friend those who are grappling with reality. I can understand that.
“As if the search to live honestly is all that anyone needs, no matter if you find it.” – Tracy Chapman, “At This Point in My Life”
